HOW CAN I HELP NCADD PREVENT KIDS FROM DRINKING?


  • Encourage the President and Congress to raise federal excise taxes on beer and to use this additional revenue to fund alcoholic beverage counter advertising (see sample letters).

  • Write to the chair and other commissioners of the Federal Communications Commission and urge them to implement the counter advertising petition NCADD and other organizations have filed with the agency. (see sample letter).

  • Encourage state and local governments to raise excise taxes on beer and to use this additional revenue to fund alcoholic beverage counter advertising (see sample letter).

  • Petition the owners of local radio and television (including cable) stations not to accept advertising for distilled spirits (see sample letter).

  • Encourage state governments to enact the "Model Underage Alcohol Consumption Reduction Act" recommended by the 1993 President's Commission on Model State Drug Laws (see sample letter).
